It’s going to be a Great Little Day Out!

Yesterday Tom, one of our Testing Team’s longest serving members, had a great day at the Oval when he met Shane Warne, one of the world’s leading Test bowlers.  Our young Testing Team love to test all our products before we launch them and the team are a major source of inspiration for us here at GLTC HQ.

Talking of GLTC HQ, the Olympic flame passes within a few hundred yards of us later today.  So to get us in the Olympic mood, if you’ve got any pictures of your kids meeting sporting heroes and would like to share them with us, please post them onto our Facebook wall and we’ll give you all a prize!

More Great news at GLTC HQ this week, Pregnancy and Practical Parenting Awards have shortlisted two of our pieces for their awards!

Our exclusive Spinning Desk Organiser is a marvellous gadget for the art table or desk. It’s nice and solid, with lots of different compartments and drawers for all their stationery, pens and pencils and has been shortlisted for the Best Innovative Product Award.

Secondly, our ‘My first Snuggle Sac‘ has been shortlisted for Best Nursery Product  in the awards.  It’ll keep children warm and secure through the night and serves as a snuggly reminder of home on visits to Granny and Grandpa. The Millpond Sleep Clinic recommends them as an alternative to conventional covers for sleep (or nap) resistant toddlers.

Great News GLTC Fans!

Not only have we won the prestigious Best Children’s Retailer Award from ECMOD this year (our industry’s version of the Oscars) but more news has been unveiled by the team at  Junior Magazine Design Awards!

We’re delighted to announce our Shop & Theatre Too has won the Best Toy for children 3-5 years old – We’re over the moon because we spent ages getting the design just right for last Christmas and it seems to have gone down a hoot!

If you haven’t seen our Shop & Theatre Too it’s definitely worth a closer inspection.

The fabulous play shop for kids will inspire hours of pretend play, but if and when your children tire of playing shops they can put on a show instead. There is a very handy drawer at the bottom for storage and it has castors so you can wheel it away at the end of the day. The toy cash register features solar-powered calculator, oversized buttons and digital display; includes activity guide, toy credit card and money set (battery included).

Toni our Toy Expert designed our Toy Shop & Theatre to be easily moved round to play with either side using it’s the castors and we believe a top quality piece like this will be treasured for generations.

And the good news doesn’t end there – Great Little Trading Company has also been given a Highly Commended Award for the Best Online Toy & Gift Retailer Category at the Junior Design Awards!
